With a tropical climate and fertile soil, Togo is prime real estate for prized crops such as coffee, cocoa, maize and cotton. But, until the arrival of Platforme Industrielle d’Adétikopé (PIA), Togo exported almost all of its agricultural commodities in their raw form, foregoing opportunities to extract greater value by transforming locally.
Eddoh's Story.
This short documentary-style film explores the industrialisation of Togo’s agriculture sector and how soybean production has skyrocketed, making the small West African country one of the biggest exporters of organic soybean to Europe.
Among others, the film features Eddoh, a Togolese organic soybean farmer who has followed in his ancestors’ footsteps, working the land and making a living off of Togo’s abundant natural resources.
